Rocky Mountain Ranches, LLC is a working cattle and ranching operation owned and operated by Chuck and Susan Johnson whose deep appreciation for nature, livestock, land stewardship, and the western ranching way of life is reflected in every part of the operation. Rocky Mountain Ranches currently operates through two primary ranch locations: Goodwater Ranch in Holbrook, Arizona, and Witch Wells Ranch in Apache County, Arizona.

Our services include expert breeding, personalized care, and quality improvements, all in an idyllic, well-maintained ranch environment designed to nurture only the best beef breeds.
The tenure of Goodwater Ranch is in a long narrow strip of rangeland being between two and four miles wide (north to south) and twelve miles long (east to west) with Arizona State and BLM lands being mixed with large areas of open range for use as adverse grazing. These are private lands owned by numerous different landowners, some with scattered houses on the property. The range is considered open range or adverse grazing as the properties are available for grazing use while not fenced. The northern boundary of the ranch is I-40 and the south boundary is the Santa Fe Railroad. The dominating topographic feature is the Puerco River lying adjacent to the railroad. The ranch is mainly rolling grassy hills with wide sweeping draws falling southward to the river bottom. Elevation ranges from 5,300′ to 5,800′, and the Headquarters situated at 5,400′.
The Witch Wells Ranch, a part of Rocky Mountain Ranches, LLC is a working cattle ranch consisting of a total of 44 acres of deeded land plus 7 sections of deeded grazing rights and mineral rights on contiguous private lands located in Central Arizona. This small, easy to manage cattle ranch has paved access, a new modular home, a good set of working corrals and carries 56 head of cattle year-long in a cow/calf operation. Its gentle topography, good feed, plentiful water and easy access make it the ideal small cattleman’s ranch. The Witch Wells Ranch is located Apache County, Arizona. Access is provided by Interstate 40 to Apache County and historic Route 66 (Crookton Road). Many small dirt roads provide excellent access to the interior of the ranch. Cattle are available through private treaty.
